To be a Princess…
My lovely daughter is a princess fanatic. Her favorite princess is (now) Rapunzel, followed very closely with her long-time favorite, Ariel. She has nearly all the dresses. All the movies. She can talk endlessly on all things princessy. When she grows up, she wants to be a princess…or a veterinarian. Or a Princess Veterinarian.
So when Kathy at Mama’s Losin’ It suggested the prompt “If you had to choose a Disney princess to live the rest of your life as…which princess would you choose and why?”, I knew who I would be (because I’ve had this conversation with Pea before):
I would be Belle.
And here is why:
- She’s pretty.
- I look really good in yellow.
- I LOVE books.
- A castle in France isn’t a bad way to go.
- She’s smart, stubborn and loyal. (Not wishy-washy like Rapunzel or a rebellious teenager like Ariel.)
- Did I mention that I love books?
- It is unlikely that the prince will EVER give me roses on Valentines day; I’m sure he’s happy to never seen one again. (I am NOT a fan of roses. Really. Long story, another post.)
- Belle is married to a former Beast. Ain’t no way he’s gonna get up in your face about how bad you look without makeup in the morning, or if you put on a few extra pounds or are lazy about shaving your legs – not when you fell for him looking like HE did.
- Same thing with the attitude. He was pretty darn snarly for a while there, so he can likely dealio with my PMS.
- Dancing dinnerware. Entertainment and it can walk itself to the kitchen? Need I say more? I think not.
So tell me now – because I am a princess and I command it so:
Which Disney Princess would YOU choose to live the rest of your life as, if given the choice?

This post is obviously inspired by a prompt in this week’s Writer’s Workshop.

I would be Cinderella. I look better in blue, Cinderell is also beautiful, I still have a castle, but I also have a fairy godmother (how cool is that!). The dishes no longer dance for Belle since they turned back into humans after the spell was broken. However, I would prefer Flynn Rider over Prince Charming. But Belle is a close second because she is more independent and spunkier.

You’ve won me over. I want to be Belle now too. Can there be two of us?!

Yes, we have been in a very long Rapunzel stage. But I am sense a change in the air as we transition into swimming lessons. Ariel maybe?

While I don’t particularly care for the color yellow, I’d have to say I’d most like to be Belle, too. Love to read, don’t care for roses, a castle in France… oui, oui!
Stopping by from Mama Kat’s.

I have always loved Belle, too. But I’m not a big fan of Beast–at least not when he turns human. A little too Fabio for me. I chose Rapunzel–I never thought of her as wishy washy, but I guess you have a point. I’m a sucker for Flynn Rider.

I love this!
I would be Belle, too, because I love books. And I love the idea of dinnerware that marches to the kitchen.
We must be kindred spirits.
