The Road Trip by Beth O’Leary: Book Review

It’s release day for Beth O’Leary’s newest book, The Road Trip. I found this book to be a lot more layered and with more complicated and deeply-flawed characters than her previous books. It’s definitely a change from the typical feel-good book, and I think that’s ok. I really enjoyed it all the same. I received an advanced copy of the book from Berkley | Penguin Random House via NetGalley; all opinions are my own. Book Review: Vanessa Yu’s Magical Paris Teashop by Roselle Lim

I love a book with a good story, an engaging main character, and a touch of magic. Roselle Lim’s debut novel Natalie Tan’s Book of Luck and Fortune was a delight, and her sophomore effort – Vanessa Yu’s Magical Paris Teashop – did not disappoint. I received an advance copy of the book from Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.  All opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links. Synopsis: My Review: As I mentioned above, I adored Roselle Lim’s debut book, and this book ticked all the boxes as well! This is a light, magical book about finding your own way (despite…

Book Review: Real Men Knit by Kwana Jackson

Real Men Knit is the first book I’ve read by Kwana Jackson, who also writes romances under the name of K.M Jackson. I definitely need to get my hands on her Sugar Lake series, as it sounds like it is right up my alley as well. If you’re a fan of contemporary romance, this slow burn romance set in a knitting shop in Harlem may be just the book you need for a quick escape or beach read. Disclosure: I received an advance copy of the book from Berkley Publishing Group via NetGalley in exchange for an unbiased review.  All opinions are my own. This post may contain affiliate links.…

The Wedding Shop – A Book Review

I confess: one of my favorite guilty pleasures is the TLC reality series “Say Yes To The Dress”.  When a book set titled The Wedding Shop – one with dual timelines, 80 years apart – was offered up, I couldn’t resist. It went straight to the top of my reading pile. Only because of crazy technical stuff (which I still don’t understand) taking out my blog while I moved it to a new host could I not share it with you when intended – so, yay, lucky you, this book is available now. Come see why I enjoyed it so much! Series: The Hearts Bend Series   Author: Rachel Hauck   Genre: Contemporary Romance/Women’s Fiction   Publisher: Zondervan/HarperCollins   Release Date: August 16, 2016   Pages: 384  …
