After four years with her boyfriend, Cadie McCaffrey is thinking of ending things. Convinced Will doesn’t love her in the “forever” way she loves him, Cadie believes it’s time for her to let him go before life passes her by. When a misunderstanding leads to a mistake, leaving her hurt, disappointed, and full of regret, she finally sends him packing.
But for Will, the end of their relationship is only the beginning of his quest to figure out how to be the man Cadie wanted him to be. With the dubious guidance of his former pro-athlete work friends and tactics drawn from Cadie’s favorite romantic comedies, Will attempts to win her back. It’s a foolproof plan. What could possibly go wrong?
PRAISE FOR WOOING CADIE McCAFFREY

One of the many things I love about Turner is the way she tackles tough subjects with candor yet writes with the right amount of discretion. Wooing Cadie McCaffrey is a smart, funny romance novel. The writing is crisp, the dialogue snappy and laugh-out-loud funny. The characters are engaging and
A BIG misunderstanding leads to a big jump to an (erroneous) conclusion and sets the very strong-willed and determined (for better or worse) Cadie down a path that left me yelling at the pages “Don’t be so stubborn, girl!”. In an attempt to make things right, her misguided but well-meaning boyfriend Will hilariously bungles it all, over and over. It sets the stage for big fun (disaster?) as only a total fail in communication can.
And while there are some big laughs here, there are also moments that have real depth and feeling to them. This is a story about finding your worth, about trust, AND about what chaos can happen in a relationship when you don’t communicate with one another.
I love the Christian romances that Revell finds because as a whole, they aren’t heavy handed or preachy, and that mostly holds true here – with one exception. This IS Christian romance, but I might even say it’s edgy. And then it’s not, and that’s the only bit that hung me up. I felt the plot stuttered just a bit when, after Cadie and Will broke the promise they made themselves, Cadie endures a degree of shame and self-flagellation that felt…excessive, or just off. (In a way, it felt that she was possibly more worried about disappointing her mother than even God. As an Italian-Catholic myself, I suppose I should be able to relate to this, but it was a stretch even for me. ) While that aspect was uncomfortable and awkward, the rest of the story made up for it.
I really liked Cadie, for all her stubbornness. I mean, Cadie is a quirky, confident, outgoing, successful woman. She is a Barry Manilow fanatic – a Fanilow! In addition, Turner’s side characters are as delightful and quirky as the main characters. I think this is one area where she really excels in her writing.
It was Will, however, that I can relate to most. He has the best of intentions but his execution so misses the mark that his efforts are completely misread. His attempts to win Cadie back using ideas from her favorite romcoms go horrendously badly despite his best intentions.
If you can be forgiving of how one (minor) aspect of the storyline was handled, this is one rom-com that will delight.

Love this review, and I totally can see how the emotions around that scene would be difficult to make feel authentic. I am intrigued by edgy and Christian and romcom all being in the same book!
Jenn
It’s not often you see frank discussions about sex (or your current stance on it) in Christian books (it was a first for me) so that aspect was really refreshing and real.
It’s a tough topic for sure to get the balance right because as humans we ARE complicated, particularly when it comes to a feeling of self-worth AND wanting our parents’ approval!!!
