The Gallery: In My Backyard
This week’s* theme for The Gallery on Tara Cain’s Sticky Fingers Blog is: My Backyard.
One of my most favorite parts of the house we have been renting for the past two years is the back garden. It is vibrant, wild and colorful, and has narrow paths, tall hedges, hiding places and arches. If you ignore the 15 foot trampoline on the left side, it looks magical.

The kind of place you expect to find fairies hanging out (although, if you look too closely at that hedge, you’re more likely to find a dog toy, instead.
There is enough flat area for a boy to kick a football, play tag, or ride a toy tractor. There is a lovely patio which makes a great place to draw chalk roads and drive your trucks on.
It’s the perfect place for a little girl who loves to pick flowers, any kind of flower – from the big bold ones, to the tiny buttercups….and the dandelions that inevitably appear.
Or even pick a wild strawberry or two…
It’s also the perfect place for a lazy puppy.
This week’s theme is a lovely wander through backyards all over, so go to Sticky Fingers and sit a spell…
*I will admit to a bloggy faux-pas: I fell asleep on the sofa and, um, kind of didn’t post this before doing so. Needless to say, it’s going up on Thursday instead of Wednesday, as it was meant to do.
Note to self: ALWAYS confirm that your post has actually, well, posted.
