Fill in the Blank Friday

It’s Friday, and time to fill in the blanks!

1.   A nervous habit I have is  picking at my fingernails, especially when they chip. I also tend to chew at my cuticles). Dreadful, I know, and it drives my husband bat-shit insane.

2.   Something that makes me sad is bullying – I can’t get over how early it starts in this day and age, and how children can be so cruel. This article, in particular, simply broke my heart.

3.  Today I am thankful for the dog-walker, as she allows my overly bouncy and social spaniel to have a proper hard run with other dogs. No amount of walking with just the two of us can replace the joy she gets from running, jumping (and swimming) with other dogs. She also manages to tire out my Energizer-bunny like pup just a wee bit more than I can manage with a two-hour walk!

4. My favorite room in my house is  my living room, because it is bright and sunny and cozy, the perfect place to curl up with a book in front of the (gas) fireplace. It opens onto the playroom, so if they kidlings are playing I can still hear them/see them.

5.  I can’t stand people who can smile and talk sweetly to your face and then talk nasty behind your back. Not that anyone talks about me like that, but I hate it when I see it in others..

6.  If I had an extra $100 to spend on whatever I wanted today I would  send it to our old church back in the States. Scary Mommy recently worked her magic to help provide Thanksgiving meals to people in need, which struck a cord with me as we have the means and not the family nearby to make the holiday what it is. Back in Chicago, through our church, we participated in Cathedral Shelter’s Christmas Basket program, and I miss our participation.  $100 would go a long way to make a family’s Christmas brighter.

7.  The last person I hung out with was  my husband. I missed the notice on the door at school that Maths Evening was cancelled, and since we had a babysitter back at the house, we went out for dinner together instead. (Which was infinitely more enjoyable than learning how the school does it’s maths instruction, no matter how important it i!).

How would you fill in the blanks?
