Why I Shouldn’t Read Bedtime Stories when I’m Tired
The kidlings have amassed quite a collection of story books. Of course, I had quite a collection before they were even born, one way of clinging on to an old dream of being a children’s picture book illustrator. (These days I rarely sketch, and if Pea asks me to draw something for her, inevitably, it’s not what she wanted….so…) Anyhoo. Back to the books. We do have quite a few, and it’s a rather diverse lot. Boo, of course, has quite a few dedicated to airplanes, trucks, and trains, and a broad collection of “Sam” books. Pea has the usual amount of Fancy Nancy, Pinkalicious, and princess-related books. Bread Lust
It was only the second day of Lent, and I fell off of the sacrificial wagon already. I was working my way through the farmer’s market last Thursday, putting together the evening meal and thought “I need some good crusty bread”. Never mind that I gave up bread for Lent. The sauce that goes on top of my salmon dish just begs for some bread, either something crusty or….OHMYGODISTHATFOCACCIA??!! Did I mention that I’m on Weight Watchers, and that I’m doing really well? While you can eat anything you want on Weight Watchers (so long as you point it), I have discovered that I lose my weight much more quickly…

Make Me Laugh Monday – Oh, the Things These Eyes Have Seen
I realize that some Europeans may well consider that Americans are….prudes when it comes to swimwear and/or nudity. Let me tell you, given what I have seen today, this is NOT a bad thing. I would have appreciated a shared sentiment of prudishness when I saw the 60+ nana poolside…topless. Or the very, very, VERY rotund gentleman wearing a very, very, VERY small swimming costume. Lying on the beach, legs spread-eagle, propped up on rocks, arms crossed behind his head. *shudders* I do not have pictures. That may have damaged my camera.
