Fill in the Blank Friday
It’s Friday, and time to fill in the blanks! 1. A nervous habit I have is picking at my fingernails, especially when they chip. I also tend to chew at my cuticles). Dreadful, I know, and it drives my husband bat-shit insane. 2. Something that makes me sad is bullying – I can’t get over how early it starts in this day and age, and how children can be so cruel. This article, in particular, simply broke my heart. 3. Today I am thankful for the dog-walker, as she allows my overly bouncy and social spaniel to have a proper hard run with other dogs. No amount of walking with just the two of us…

Fill in the Blank Friday (with a bit of thanks included)
T.G.I.F. people…bring on the weekend! It’s time to fill in the blanks with Lauren at the little things we do! 1. My favorite new blog of the moment is www.giverslog.com. AmberLee has some amazing, fun, happy crafty projects and fun recipes. I’m a crafty girl at heart and love to put a personal touch on things and her printables tick all the boxes. Since I tend to nest a bit in the winter months, I’m gathering supplies for some fun treats (and wishing I was back in the US to try out her Salted Carmel Ticket Sticks (hot chocolate on a stick). I’m also loving Suri’s Burn Book, as I love…

Fill In The Blank Friday
What a loooonnnng week it has been, and at the same time, look how quickly Friday has arrived! School started up this week after half term, and while we had the typical back-to-school tiredness the first few days, I think we all were glad to get back onto some sort of schedule. Anywhoo….enough moaning. Lauren‘s blanks always make me take a moment to stop and think happy thoughts, so let’s fill in some blanks! 1. My favorite thing about this week is going Christmas shopping today with a dear friend. I’m looking forward to the day! 2. Colder weather makes me crave warm soups and bread, pull out my favorite wool sweaters….and thick tights…and fun hats….and…

Fill in the Blank Friday
I love Lauren’s “fill in the blank meme” and she credits this week’s blanks to Shaunie at Unknown Boutique. So without further ado, let’s go: 1. When I was a kid I wanted to be a teacher or an artist when I grew up. 2. As an adult, my dream job would be a children’s story book illustrator. 3. When I was younger I wanted to be just like my mom. (Although Vicki Stubing was a close second – I wanted to live on “The Love Boat”.) 4. The childhood Halloween costume that I remember most was when I was a clown. Lordy, I hated that costume (clowns gave me…

Fill In The Blank Friday
Woo hoo! It’s Friday! This week has just zoomed by, and after gloomy skies and drizzly rain, the sun is shining and it is glorious outside – just the thing to put me in a snap happy mood. And which also makes me want to fill in some very happy blanks…. The best thing I did all week was have a long heart-to-heart conversation with the Hubs. It’s important to sit down and really talk from time to time, and I feel re-centered and peaceful. A big squeezy hug from my kiddos, a romantic comedy and a big bowl of popcorn and pumpkin pie make me super happy. All in…

Fill in the Blank Friday – on a Saturday
T.G.I.S. (Thank God Its Saturday. Because, you see, I wrote this on Friday – and then things went downhill further than I thought they could go, and I went to sulk in a corner. And *oops* didn’t publish my post.) So. It’s been a crap kind of week, really. One of those weeks where you really don’t want to ask me how I’m doing, because it’s highly likely that I’ll tell you. And you really don’t want me to do that. Trust me. Anyhoo….I hate to be in a glass-half-empty mood, I really do! I need a serious attitude adjustment…. …so for now, it will take the form of “Fill…

Fill in the Blank Friday
Welcome to my “I-didn’t-finish-this-on-Friday-so-now-it’s-the-Saturday” version of Fill In The Blank Friday! The Hubs was back in the States all week and returned home mid-day yesterday, so I didn’t quite get to finish this in a timely manner. It’s really great to have him home again. I’m also pleased to see that Blogger is cooperating again and Lauren was able to put up a set of blanks. *yay* That said, let’s get to it: 1. People always tell me I look like my mom. Which wouldn’t be wrong, although in certain photos I am seeing some resemblance to my dad for the first time ever. 2. Friends don’t let friends drink…

Fill in the Blank Friday
Another Friday, another week draws to a close. Thank the good Lord. (It’s been a really tough week with a certain 5-year old here.) *ahem* And while I have some ideas churning in my head, I’m more in the mood to fill in some blanks, and let those ideas cook a bit more. Many thanks to Courtney at My So Called Denver for jumping in and posting some blanks, since Blogger’s uncooperativeness meant that Lauren was unable to. Thanks, Courtney!!! And so now it is time to Fill in the Blanks! 1. If I had to use 3 words why I am undoubtedly a Type-A they would be control-freak, perfectionist, and…

Fill In The Blank Friday
Oh, if ever there was a week I was glad it was Friday, it was this one. Yes, the kidlings had a short week since Monday was a Bank Holiday, but four days or five, the first week back after a holiday is brutal for them, especially Pea, who pretty much burst into tears the minute she walked out of school (yesterday as well as) today. I’m trying not to take it personally, but wow, she was a mess tonight. Let’s just say that, on the tantrum scale, the one around suppertime (which we were eating on the patio) probably registered on “the neighbors will give us a happy going…

Fill in the Blank Friday
Hurrah, it’s Friday! And now that I have unloaded on all of you, I feel much more relaxed and ready to take on the weekend, which looks to be busy and includes a joint birthday party for Pea and Boo with 21 of their closest school friends. (I had to put my foot down with Pea when the list started to include girls from years 3, 4 and 5 – she has a LOT of friends!) Boo was much more sensible and only picked his closest buddies. I’m a big fan of party places who will gladly do the cleanup for me, allowing me to come home and put my…
