Fill In the Blank Friday: Magazine Love

{photo via weheartit}

This week’s fill in the blank friday topic is courtesy of Leesh at The Blarkness Chronicles (which is super cool, because, seriously, I don’t know how Lauren at The little Things We Do can come up with these things every week)….

and it’s all about magazines. This is a touchy subject for me because all my favorite magazines are not sold over here. I managed to get my existing subscriptions forwarded here when we moved, but *sniff* all the subscriptions have run out. I was told that I would not be able to renew at US rates, but instead at the wallet-breaking international rates, so I have to take a deep long look at what I really want to keep….

But enough whining. Here we go!

1. If I could only read one magazine publication for the rest of eternity, I would choose *gasp* that is like asking me to take only ONE book to a desert island! I can’t pick. I have too many interests!

2. If I were to run my own magazine it would be a combination of food, fashion and travel – but no fitness, diet, or self-help, please!

3. I buy my magazines (at the grocery check stand or via subscription) via subscription, because they don’t carry the ones I like here.

4. I prefer magazines in print or online – print, absolutely. Although, if I find a recipe I like, I tend to hunt it down on the online version and bookmark it, just in case.

5. The number of magazines I buy each month is only about 2. I just can’t get into the gossip mags here (because I don’t know who anyone is) and most of the magazines I normally buy aren’t sold here.

6. My favorite magazine genre is (lifestyle, gossip, home, etc…) cooking. I’m a sucker for a foodie magazine – Cook’s Illustrated, Cooking Light – even the one’s sold by the supermarket chains (like Sainsbury’s and Waitrose) although I do love fashion magazines.

7. The magazines I enjoy regularly are Cooking Light and Vanity Fair. If I were back home, I’d also throw in Martha Stewart (she’s my fav crafty gal), Cook’s Illustrated, Conde Nast Travel, National Geographic, Lucky, Chicago Magazine and Vanity Fair. Ok, and “O” Magazine. I loves me my Oprah.

Mr. Linky is not playing with us, so fill in your blanks in the comments section below or put a link to your bloggy response in Lauren’s comment section.  Have a great weekend!!!
