Baseball Anxiety
I’m an anxious person by nature. I am also a lifelong Cubs fan, but I confess, one who isn’t as enamored of televised baseball games as I am sitting in the ballpark, beer in hand. But this series – and particularly this game tonight, Game 7 – has me chewing my nails to the quick from anxiety. Oh, the inside of my head is a very confusing, distracted place to be. I don’t function well with clutter around me. Facebook is NOT my friend. I have turned off all sounds and notifications, but I am still too easily distracted. I write better first thing in the morning – mostly – but I only get to the gym if I go the first thing in the morning. This is a problem. My to-do lists are helpful – when I remember to write them. I have a lot of advanced review copies of books on my Kindle, and because of this, it’s not difficult to lose track of the themes of the books as I queue them up to read.
