The Gallery: Faces
I spent part of this afternoon building a Lego set with my kidlings today.
Together they sat, faces close together, working (companionably, no less!) to assemble the small pieces. Watching them, it struck me how much they both have grown – Pea’s not a baby any more! – and how much older they look – and yet, how little their faces have changed. Oh, sure, they have lengthened a bit and lost the baby squareness that they had (yes, they were blockheads), but Pea still has a glint of mischief and Boo is still, well, Boo.
I’m a bit mad with my camera, my kids will back me up on this, but they are my favorite subjects. Looking back over my photos, I find that my favorites are the ones where I just focus in on their faces, goofy grins or natural smiles both, and those huge, brown eyes.
The theme of this week’s Gallery is “Faces” and there are some amazing photos linked up at Sticky Fingers blog.

My goodness me, your kids have the sunniest smiles. How can you EVER be mad at them with those faces?!

Thank you! It’s only for those gorgeous, sunny smiles that they’ve lived this long.
That girl can turn on a dime and give you the wickedest tantrum you’ve ever seen….and then flash you that smile 10 minutes later. *sigh*
I’m REALLY dreading the teenage years.
