Cybher Meet and Greet
This past summer I went to Cybermummy – my first ever blog conference, and it was a fantastic experience. I took home ideas for my blog, including ways to improve my photography and vlogging, and I had the opportunity put faces to so many fellow bloggers and Twitterers.
I am very excited to be going to Cybher on May 12, catching up with everyone, learning some new things and drinking wine. I must confess that a small part of the giddiness may be attributed to being able to enjoy proper showers, uninterrupted, in the room I’ve booked at the Strand Palace. (The house we moved into this summer has two dubious bathtubs, and no shower. I love me a nice shower.)
So here’s me! :waves:
Five things you should know about me…
1. I am an American, and despite living here for 2.5 years, still say things like “pants” (instead of “trousers”) and “gas” (instead of “petrol”) and “a-LU-min-um” (not al-u-MIN-i-um). Please don’t tease me, I know I do it, and I don’t care.
2. I have 2 children, a mad cocker spaniel, and they’re all very strong-willed. Wine is my friend.
3. I am married to a lovely guy who gets very geeked out about pharmaceutical (aka drug) packaging. Despite this, he makes fun of my various addictions which include shows with a supernatural/sci-fi bent, Hoarders and Dr. Who.
4. While my Twitter stream may show otherwise, in reality I am actually very shy & awkward, especially when meeting people for the first time. This causes me to stammer a bit and I can get a bit panicky.
5. Pregnancy hormones seriously affected my short-term memory (that’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it) so I’m particularly crap with names. Great with faces. But putting them together? Meh. Thank goodness for name tags.
5. I’m currently addicted to Words With Friends (which is slightly more respectable than saying I’m addicted to Farmville. Which I’m not. Any more. I wonder if all my cows are dead from starvation…..) Oh, and my username on WWF is JennB68. Just, you know, in case you want to play a game.
If you’re going to Cybher as well, head on over to Geek is the New Chic and link up (if you haven’t already)!

Hopefully see you there – though I’m pretty shy to and crap with names so it may just be a smile from a distance 😉

Another cocker spaniel family- yea! (if I said ‘circles’ can you relate?). And yes, I don’t (and won’t) function with without a shower.
I think the corner might be a popular place- I look forward to meeting you.

Meet you on the corner, then! And yes, I am familiar with circles. If I could bottle the spaniel energy I’d be rich!

Look forward to seeing you there! My short term memory is a bit rubbish too and I often confuse real name, blog names and Twitter IDs!

Thanks for joining in the meet and greet but I’m warning you now I have a tendency to make my American friends say a-LU-min-um way to much. I LOVE it!
Jenn
:sighs: as long as you don’t make fun of my pronunciation, I’m good.
