Dusting off the Cobwebs
One of the prompts on this past week’s Writer’s Workshop was: “What have you been too busy to pay attention to?”
This was one that I couldn’t pass by. This one, dear friends, will write itself.
The answer to this (aside from my ever expanding muffin-top) is: my blog. *sniffs*
I’m slightly mortified that the entire month of April slipped by without a single post *hangs head in disgust*, particularly with so much going on. Despite so much going on. Given that I had so much going on. I didn’t necessarily have a shortage of ideas….they just weren’t playing out. (Seriously, if you could have been in my head last month? I had some AWESOME posts….)
We took two weeks to head back to the States at the beginning of the month – it was a whirlwind trip, and for over half of it, I had no internet connection to speak of. (And I’m the one who installed my MIL’s wi-fi!) I also suffered from the worst jet-lag of my life there, so I was in bed at early o’clock, which doesn’t fit in with my late night writing sessions.
Coming back, it’s been a whirlwind of sick kids and getting paperwork together so that we can file for our Visa extension, since deportation isn’t really in my plans at the moment.
I know: excuses, excuses.
But I’ve got lots to talk about and all my plotting and planning and banging-my-head-against-the-desk stuff is behind me, so I’m back on track. I’m dusting off the cobwebs and sweeping out the tumbleweeds. I’m headed to a BLOGGING conference in London this weekend, for goodness sake, so I need to get myself back on track.
I mean, I’m only TWO days late for my Writers’ Workshop post, so I’m getting there….

A blogging conference in London!!! LOVELY! It can be so hard to stay motivated to keep blogging. I’m sure you’ll be re-inspired when you’re there!

I know … London! *sighs* is it wrong that I booked the first train I could make on the day before? Looking forward to window shopping and wandering around a big city again. I love it here but it can feel kind of remote after living in Chicago for so long.
I admire you – you can post daily despite working et al….

I loved this post! I need to invent some way that I can download all the posts I write in my head onto my computer…
I’m back from a (much longer!) blogging hiatus too, thanks to Mama Kat! Enjoy!

If you figure out how to do that….please share! Thanks for your sweet comments!

And I think Andrew was happy I did it, too. Thanks for getting it. Next visit, hopefully we aren’t jet lagged!
